Orr Ministries
My name is Jared Orr. My wife Sandy and I serve in Egypt together as missionaries. I was born and raised in Kansas City. I worked as a mechanical engineer for six years before the Lord called me to the field. I quickly fell in love with the Egyptian people and the Sudanese people who are refugees in Egypt. Sandy is Egyptian, so she is not only an amazing wife, but a vital helper in my cultural effectiveness. I am on the board for a Sudanese refugee school that has been around for over thirty years. We also lead a weekly gathering of believers and continually seek out people who are open to hearing about Jesus. A lot of our time is spent looking for ways to connect with locals.
We are passionate about raising up indigenous leaders who have solid biblical training and the heart of Jesus. We want to make Jesus famous in this nation that has a unique strategic significance in the middle east, and even among unreached groups. We also want to bring our experience with Muslims and testimonies from our ministry to the United States, where there is a huge growing population of Muslims who are thirsty for the Lord!
We are sent by our local church in Kansas City and covered by Mission Enabler's International and Leader Source.
